The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship model, and it can be customized to suit a wide range of applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows for optimal battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated trucks in class 4 have a single interior wall structure and a higher insulation level than traditional trucks, enable seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer lifespan. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior cargo capacity, and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission freight or passenger transport.
GreenPower has collaborated with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to seamlessly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We had the chance to test the EV9 for several hours on a local freeway, and found it to be a breeze to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block wind and road noise while driving on the highway. It glides effortlessly over bumps and ruts. The acceleration is quite quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.
The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully charged in just three hours at home or with any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode prioritizes the torque and cruise control, as well as handling while sport mode focuses on speed. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and provide an unforgettable experience for those who've never been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.
GreenPower offers several other eVehicles which include a multi-purpose electric minibus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit bus, vanpool, or paratransit vehicle.
GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demand of the Biden Administration, which is looking to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be tested by Altoona and FMVSS-certified. Buy America compliant and ADA compliant.
